So, this Blog seems to be lacking in posts. And for that I am sorry... I've been so busy trying to get my life primed before perfecting certain areas - something which will never happen might I add! - that I have neglected this Blog. I know I only have 1 page view, and I know it was probably from myself, but I don't care. Blogging is going to be a way of grounding myself, as I am otherwise prone to drifting off and doing other non-significant things.
So, my year of goals is going well so far (see previous post for enlightenment!) as I'd hoped. My goals for January were:
-Take my gran out for afternoon tea
-Put thought into my career aspirations
-Have a catch up with a friend
-Surprise someone this month
I managed to do all of the above, which left me feeling fairly satisfied at the end of the month. It may not seem like much, but it is more the fact that I disciplined myself to complete each one that made me feel good about myself.
This month, along with my monthly goals I am hoping to put more effort into my appearance. It may sound vain, but I feel like I always play it safe with my look - being 20 now, I want to be more experimental and care-free, and a way to do this is through my 'look'. Some of my physical goals will take time, such as growing my hair again, but others I am able to work on now. I want to have achieved the following before I go on holiday in the summer:
-Have long hair in a cut which flatters my face shape
-Be more toned and fit
-Have clearer skin (This way, I don't have to worry about my lack of make-up whilst sunbathing!)
Other non-physical goals for the next few months include:
-Doing well at university (I want to push myself more this semester)
-Gaining more confidence (Challenging myself to talk to new people and such - I normally get really nervous when I'm not around familiar people)
-Getting my driver's license
So that is the end of my second post - hopefully I'll be posting more soon!

This year's goals in a jar (or piggy bank?!)
One of my resolutions for 2013 was to discover myself and what I wanted in life, and so blogging is going to be one of my steps to discovering what my aims actually are. Hopefully I stick with it, we shall see!
So, one of the first things I done on the first of January was create a 'Piggy bank of goals' so to speak. I basically wrote down 48 things which I wanted to accomplish this year - some big, others smaller and more achievable - on individual squares of paper. I folded these up and put them all in a spare piggy bank (I didn't have any dishes or large jars but anything can be used to store these goals, just whatever you have lying around). The basic idea is that on the first day of every month I'll pick out 4 of these pieces of paper at random, and set these as my goals for the month ahead.
I really think that setting goals for yourself is a key step in achieving what you want, and this is a fun little idea which will keep you on your toes and focusing on what you want. Some of my goals are really simple, such as 'Get in touch with a friend who you haven't spoken to in a while' whilst others such as 'Give blood' are a bit more important.
The beauty of this method is that you are not simply ticking things off of a list, and so cannot choose which goals to complete first. A part of me does believe in fate, and so I think that the order in which you pull the goals out of the jar is the right order to complete them in.
I don't know if anyone will even read these posts, but if not then at least I have a place to collectively sum up my year and look back on. However if anyone is reading this, hopefully some of you will like this idea and give it a try! This year is feeling like a positive one for me and I really hope that it is a year of change for others who, like me, find it hard to decide what they want in life.
All the best for 2013!
